Waggin' Tail on the Waterfront raises funds for animals in need

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It was a dog day of spring at Waterfront Park Sunday in downtown Louisville.

Waggin' Tail on the Waterfront, hosted by Kentucky Humane Society, raises funds for animals in need. The dog-friendly event was held at Waterfront Park's Festival Plaza on 231 Witherspoon Street.

"It's great. I wish everyone could adopt. I am actually thinking about adopting one myself, another one - this one was a Valentine's Day gift but yeah, they are sweet little animals, sweet little eyes - they deserve great forever homes full of love and happiness," Troy Keller said.

There was live music, food trucks, pet-themed vendors and adoptable dogs. Tickets were $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger.

Since the event started in 1998, it has raised more than $1.8 million.
