LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Wayside Christian Mission pulled out all the stops this year for Christmas, putting on a feast for Louisville's homeless community.
The annual feast was held all day on Thursday at Hotel Louisville and consisted of breakfast, lunch and a Christmas dinner.
Volunteers arrived at 5 a.m. to make sure all of the food was ready to go. The daylong event also included live entertainment and a dance party.
For dinner, there was plenty of ham, turkey, beans, mashed potatoes and a lot of desserts.
"These people are just like everyone else, so they look forward to the holiday. We don't want them sitting in the shelter, not having anything to do," Nina Moseley, with Wayside Christian Mission, said. "It helps to be around people when you are in a bad situation, as well as they know people care for them when they come to an event like this."
There was also a cookout in the parking lot for those who wanted to stay outside. Boxed dinners were also handed out.
