LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It has been two years since deadly tornadoes hit western Kentucky.

Gov. Andy Beshear visited the area after the severe weather to help those who lost everything. Beshear shared a video of a woman from western Kentucky named Patsy who was surprised with a brand new home.

Beshear also visited Mayfield and Dawson Springs to hand over keys to 10 new homes for other tornado survivors. The Team Western Kentucky Tornado Relief Fund contributed $1 million to support these homes.

More than $21.6 million was committed from the fund to construct or repair 300 other homes.

The governor's office said to date 154 home-building projects have been completed, are under construction or have been approved to start construction.
