In a 5-1 vote Tuesday, officials decided the 146-year-old courthouse will be demolished and replaced.
The design will incorporate the 52,000-square-foot historic portion of the current building.
The historic portion of the Oldham County Courthouse will be moving in the coming weeks as part of a $29 million project.
