One person was hospitalized after an apartment fire in east Louisville early Saturday morning.

Crews from Anchorage Middletown Fire & EMS and the St. Matthews Fire Department responded to the reported fire just before 4 p.m. Wednesday in the 11200 block of River Beauty Loop.

Despite frigid temperatures and icy conditions, firefighters were able to stop the fire from spreading beyond the initial units involved. 

One person was displaced after a fire broke out at a home in east Louisville early Sunday morning.

A firefighter was mildly injured while helping put out a fire in an east Louisville restaurant early Saturday morning.

Two people inside the home were able to get out safely and were not injured.

It happened around 1 a.m. in the 300 block of Barcelona Drive, off South English Station Road.

It took 31 firefighters around an hour to control the blaze.

The original call to 911 was by a store employee.

The training course is held twice a year and is open to other departments around the area.
