The Elizabethtown Police Department said on Facebook Monday that it was contacted by the district about a social media post that threatened the students and staff at the school. 

Police said students and staff were never in danger.

A woman involved in a court case with the alleged shooter died at the scene, and her mother died a short time later at the hospital. 

Hardin County Schools, LaRue County Schools and Elizabethtown Independent Schools sent the letter out on Friday asking the businesses to obey the laws of selling vape products, and keeping them behind the counter.

Elizabethtown High School students place first in three different categories at the National Beta Club Convention.
