Dare to Care Food Bank received Prairie Farms lactose free milk gallons on Tuesday.
The program works to fight hunger by "facilitating the processing, packaging and delivery of healthful ground venison meat" for those in need.
Chick-fil-A Springs Station is located at 962 Breckenridge Lane in St. Matthews.
The meat is donated to food banks across the state.
Volunteers are already working to meet demand and help their neighbors.
Publix Super Markets Charities is $3.85 million to 22 Feeding America member food banks, including Dare to Care in Louisville.
The donation is part of the Kentucky Department of Agriculture's Hunger Initiative to ensure food pantries have enough supplies for the colder months.
Food banks are stepping up to try and meet the demand.
In March 2020, the federal government allowed the state to give "emergency allotments" to families on SNAP during the coronavirus pandemic.
The nonprofit organization invited leaders of more than 200 food banks and pantries across the U.S.
