The left most westbound lane will be open, and access to the ramps will remain.
Starting Tuesday, Oct. 24, crews will begin repairing steel railings on the Second Street Bridge that have had temporary guardrails for months.
The right lane of Interstate 64 West, on the top deck of the bridge, heading into Indiana will close at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8.
The closures will be 8 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Sundays.
The entire bridge was closed July 27 for emergency repairs after crews found a problem with a pier that supports the top deck on the Kentucky side.
Bridge renewal project officials said "added safety measures and weather delays" are delaying the scheduled Aug. 7 reopening.
