St. Matthews Mayor Rick Tonini said to WDRB News a Louisville Metro Police unit pulled someone over at the mall and there was a self-inflicted shooting.
Kwanzaa is an African-American cultural holiday created in 1966 by Dr. Maulana Karenga. It's celebrated from Dec. 26 to Jan. 1.
The donations will help the animals find loving homes for the holiday season.
The billboard on Shelbyville Road near Mall St. Matthews is for a company called The Fire Place.
Jefferson County Public Schools made no major changes to its bus routes during Fall Break, saying the efficiency had improved since a disastrous opening day caused the district to cancel class for the ensuing six days.
According to St. Matthews Police Chief Barry Wilkerson, the threat was made against an individual business in the mall.
It all happens Aug. 5 at the Community Center Park at 310 Ten Pin Lane, from noon to 6 p.m.
The shooting happened at the mall on Shelbyville Road around 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31.
As people headed back to the mall on Thursday, Mayor Craig Greenberg said the ongoing violence needed to end.
Louisville Metro Police are asking the public to stay away from the mall amid the investigation.
