LMPD officers and emergency service staff were honored after saving a 6-year-old girl who was kidnapped near Valley Station Road in southwest Louisville in July.

LMPD says the girl was taken while riding her bike. Police were able to find her and reunite her with her family.

On Monday, U.S. Sen. Rand Paul honored all of those involved in the rescue by entering their story into the Congressional Record.

Kentucky is number one in child abuse cases in the country for the third year in a row.

Wildt is charged with the kidnapping of a minor and is scheduled to be arraigned Saturday morning.
