LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Let's get some numbers out of the way.

It has been 1,455 days since Georgia lost a home football game. The Bulldogs have won 22 in a row at Sanford Stadium.

Kirby Smart's program has also won 22 consecutive games overall as well as 32 straight regular-season games. And they have won 13 straight against Kentucky, the Bulldogs' longest winning streak in the series between the programs.

Those are the numbers that Mark Stoops and the Wildcats must overcome against the top-ranked, two-time defending national champions this weekend.

Time: Saturday, 7 p.m., Sanford Stadium, Athens, Georgia.

The Line: Point spread — Georgia by 14.5; Over/under total points scored 47.5. DraftKings, 1:30 p.m. Friday.

The Last Time: The Bulldogs won at Kroger Field, 16-6, in Lexington.

The Series: Georgia leads, 62-12-2 with an advantage of 31-4-2 in Athens.

The Records: Both teams are 5-0. The Wildcats have wins over Ball State, Eastern Kentucky, Akron, Vanderbilt and Florida. Georgia beat Tennessee-Martin, Ball State, South Carolina, UAB and Auburn.

Player to Watch Kentucky: Halfback Ray Davis, who looked like the best running back in the nation while rolling to 280 yards against Florida last Saturday. Davis leads the Southeastern Conference and ranks fourth in the nation with 594 rushing yards on 76 carries, an average of 7.82 yards per attempt.

Player to Watch Georgia: Quarterback Carson Beck, a junior from Jacksonville, Florida, has been good by not spectacular as the Bulldogs' replacement for Stetson Bennett. He's thrown for 1,497 yards in five games with seven TD passes and a pair of interceptions. Beck is not a threat to run, gaining 15 yards in the last three games.

Sideline Storylines:

  • Considering Smart's credentials a defensive guru, it's not surprising the Bulldogs rank third in the SEC in total defense, limiting opponents to 287.2 yards per game. That is nine fewer yards per game than the Bulldogs allowed in 2022 but 20 more yards than 2021.
  • Georgia tight end Brock Bowers injected himself into the Heisman Trophy discussion last week when he caught eight passes for 157 yards and a touchdown in a victory over Auburn.
  • A total of 34 Georgia players have been drafted by the NFL in the last three seasons, including nine defensive players in the first round. Despite the turnover, the Bulldogs still figure to start at least eight players who have been in the program at least three seasons on defense. Georgia has played 21 true freshmen this season.
  • Georgia expects its 69th consecutive sellout at Sanford Stadium, which seats 92,746, the ninth-largest stadium in college football.
  • The Bulldogs specialize in shortening the field. Of Georgia's 23 offensive scoring drives, only one has been longer than 60 yards.
  • Kentucky features a dozen former Georgia High School stars, led by linebacker Trevin Wallace. He grew in Jesup, about three hours from Athens.
  • Since 2015, Stoops and the Wildcats are an impressive 12-15 against ranked opponents. The Wildcats are 3-16 against a No. 1 ranked opponent. The three victories came against Oklahoma in 1950, Ole Miss in 1964 and Louisiana State in 2007. Kentucky has lost eight straight to the No. 1 team, including the last two against Georgia.
  • The Wildcats have outscored their two SEC opponents — Vanderbilt and Florida — 37-0 in the first quarter.

The Quote: Smart was effusive in his praise of the Wildcats' offense.

"They do a tremendous job of putting window dressing on all their runs. They have really good people blocking it, they have very experienced tight ends on the edges.

"They've got kids that have been there for two and three years blocking on the perimeter and they've got a great back. They've got a great running system that has all the ingredients to be excellent.

"You have physical offensive linemen, a head coach and offensive coordinator committed to running it, a great back, several great backs, and they have weapons outside. They are a very talented group."
