The family of Thomas "Lofton" Hazelwood, a University of Kentucky student who died in 2021 at age 18. They were in Frankfort to show their support for Senate Bill 9, "Lofton's Law," which criminalizes hazing.

His signature to Senate Bill 9 came on Monday, more than a week after the the state House passed the bill on a 96-3 vote.
