LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It's fall, and that only means one thing in southern Indiana: Harvest Homecoming.

The annual festival kicked off Saturday in New Albany with opening ceremonies and the parade.

Booth Days, a popular attraction for people, start Thursday and go through Sunday.

Guests can expect foods like chicken and dumplings, donuts and pumpkin rolls, along with crafts and other vendors.

The homecoming's president, Doug Jacques, joined WDRB Mornings on Monday to talk about an exciting addition to this year's festival.

"The balloon glow is a new event this year," Jacques said. "Guests will be able to take a tethered balloon ride for $20 a person. It's very exciting."

The balloon ride will be located where the old high rise was at Riverview Towers and are scheduled to start at 5 p.m. Friday.

Other events include the baby photo contest, the dog show, senior bingo, blind draw cornhole tournament and more.

Harvest Homecoming events will be happening all week and more information can be found on their website.
