CHARLESTOWN, In. (WDRB) -- The city of Charlestown is currently celebrating Founders Week.
WDRB's Keith Kaiser learns about this special event to commemorate this southern Indiana town, founded in 1808.
Charlestown’s Founders Week happens from June 21-28 with family-friendly activities.
A few events to close out the week include a family fun night, a cornhole tournament and a parade.
Monday, June 23
Brick Building Clinic – Charlestown Middle School, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Tuesday, June 24
Moore Family Ice Cream Social and Gospel Singing – Family Activities Park, 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Free park admission and enjoy local musicians
Wednesday, June 25
“Marriage, Mob, Murder” Mystery Dinner Party – A&E Center, 6 p.m.
Advanced tickets are $30 each or $160/table.
Friday, June 27
Family Fun Night – Family Activities Park, 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Park will be open for free with live music from the Willis Tucker Band.
Plus, free hot dogs to the first 150 guests.
Louisville Roller Derby Exhibition Match – Family Activities Park, 6 p.m.
Athletes perform a match, then skate with the public.
Saturday, June 28
Kentucky Small Critter Convention – A&E Center, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
A fundraising event hosted by The Celtic Glider. Ticket available online.
Backyard Classics Car Club 27th Annual Car Show – City Square, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Enjoy cars, music, prizes, and food trucks. Cars can register in advance, or day of the show.
Founders Week Parade – Begins at 1 p.m.
The route begins at Charlestown High School and rolls down Monroe Street, to Main Street, to Level Street before returning back to the high school.
Amateur Corn Hole Tournament – Charlestown Little League Park, 2 p.m. Blind draw event.
Rock & Glow Festival, Balloon Glow and Concert – Charlestown Little League Park, 2 p.m. - 11 p.m.
