A Freeze Watch has been issued for most of our area Friday night through Saturday morning as cold air blankets our communities.

These are the spots where temperatures will easily drop below freezing by Saturday morning. Friday is the time to take protective action if there are any plants or animals that shouldn't be outside in that level of cold.

Below is the text issued by the National Weather Service in Louisville with the Watch:

...FREEZE WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY
MORNING...

* WHAT...Temperatures as low as the mid 20s.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Indiana and central Kentucky.

* WHEN...From late Friday night through Saturday morning.

* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other
sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor
  plumbing.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent
freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should
be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have
in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-
ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
