January wound up being a rainy, cloudy month, but let's see how the numbers stack up in the record book:
Clouds became the talking point at the end of the month. According to NWS Louisville, 20 of January's 31 days were recorded as cloudy with 80%-100% of the sky covered. Another 8 days were partly cloudy (closer to a half-and-half mix) leaving only 3 days with more sunshine than clouds.Â

The strongest wind gust measured at the Louisville Muhammad Ali International airport during the month of January was 50 mph on the 9th. And 12 days recorded at least a trace of snowfall with the official snowfall for the month going down as 4.1".
