LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Planning is underway for Louisville's annual parade honoring local veterans—and there are some big changes coming this year.

The Kentucky Veterans Parade is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 8, just a few days before Veterans Day.

This year, the parade will be moving from downtown to NuLu. It will travel along East Market Street from Campbell to Hancock.

After the parade, families are invited to check out the "Touch a Tank" display to see military vehicles up close.

"The layout is working out extremely well, and what we're really trying to do after 15 years is to grow to what is more than just a parade," Wayne Hettinger, parade co-chair, said.

In celebration of the parade's 15th anniversary, community members are encouraged to nominate a veteran for special recognition as part of the "Heroes Among Us" initiative. Fifteen veterans will be selected, but all nominated veterans will be invited to participate in the event.
