LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A United States Army combat veteran has some new wheels thanks to a Louisville foundation.

The Wyler Family Foundation partnered with the Kentucky Wounded Heroes to give a car to Theron Bell.

Bell, who enlisted at 17, is a veteran with PTSD and overcame homelessness after serving in Afghanistan.

A committee chose Theron because of the trials and tribulations that he has overcome while serving and getting reacclimated to life after coming home from service in Afghanistan.

"There's a selection process that we go through, and you hear a ton of stories, and really just the ones that grab your heartstrings the most, and Theron's did that for us," Charles Hanson, with Jeff Wyler Automotive said.

Theron is a full-time student at EKU and had previously been using his bike to get to class and to help care for his mother with epilepsy.

"It's very interesting that this happened because I'm usually the giver so it was nice to receive for once," he said.
