LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A local pizza restaurant is hosting a fundraiser to honor a Louisville Metro Police detective.

Bearno's is hosting a fundraiser Tuesday, July 15, to honor LMPD Detective Michelle Rusch, who died of stomach cancer June 10.

Locations in Louisville and southern Indiana will donate 20% of all sales directly to the Rusch family.

"Bearno's is an amazing company, and they're always ready to give back so kinda bringing my two worlds together is a no-brainer for our family to come together to show some support for somebody in need," Jeff Eberenz, former LMPD officer and co-owner of Bearno's, said. "I'm proud to be a member of this community, and I'm proud to be a member of the company that is always ready and willing to help out whenever they can."

Rusch served with LMPD for more than 10 years and was a member of the Crimes Against Children Unit.

Her final wishes were that she would be remembered for all her good work and that her family would be taken care of. She left behind a husband and three small children.
