LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- New trails are coming to a southern Indiana nature preserve.
City officials said trails will be expanded at New Albany's Loop Island Wetlands on the eastern side of the shoreline to increase access to the Wetlands, offering more scenic views and more wildlife watching.
The nature preserve is nearly 54 acres along the Ohio River Greenway. The expansion will nearly double the size of the current trails. The trail system was installed by the city just a few years ago.
"This additional trail system will expand access to the New Albany Loop Island Wetlands and offer even more scenic nature views and wildlife watching, and the site is just a stone's throw from our downtown," New Albany mayor Jeff Gahan said in a news release.
The nature preserve is open to the public year-round.Â
