LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Would you believe a police department in Kentucky is now using goats to detect drugs?

A post on the Facebook page for the Hardin County Sheriff's Office says it's the first in the state to use "G-9s."

The post said that "goats, when properly trained, can use their keen sense of smell to detect narcotics assisting deputies in getting dangerous drugs off the street. Goats can also use their agility and balance to help track suspects in the roughest of terrains deep in the heart of Hardin County."

The post said G-9 Belle is now on the job, before revealing that it is part of an April Fools' Day prank.

The pranks didn't stop there -- in a Facebook post of its own, the Elizabethtown Police Department said it's investigating the premature leak of photos from a surprise department calendar shoot. The post included an image Public Affairs Officer Chris Denham's head on the body of a man striking a provocative pose.

The post said one theory is that "Officer Denham accidentally added Quicksie Radio's Brian Walker into the text conversation about the calendar shoot."

The post ends by asking for thoughts and prayers ... and doughnuts.

Happy April Fools' Day!
