Chappell will also be distributing candy to parade attendees. The Kosair Shriners dune buggies, classic cars and a Louisville Fire Department firetruck will also participate.
"I’m excited to see all the families and residents lined up along the parade route, and I’m hopeful for a gorgeous spring day as we kick off the ball season," Chappell said in a news release. "This is such a great opportunity to celebrate the youth in our community."
After the parade, Germantown Baseball will host a ceremonial event with special recognitions. The first baseball and softball games start at 1 p.m.
Germantown Baseball Inc. was one of the first chartered Little Leagues in Kentucky as an independent youth baseball league and then in 1963 as a Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth organization.Â
