LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Thousands of summer jobs are now open for teens and young adults in Louisville.
The city kicked off its 15th season of SummerWorks Wednesday.
Jobs are available for people between the ages of 16 and 21 who live in Louisville.
Some of the participating companies include LG&E, Humana, Kentucky Kingdom, Kroger and Norton Healthcare.
SummerWorks also has opportunities available with local nonprofits and city agencies.
"This internship has opened so many doors for me that I didn't even know existed," Reyna Sawyer, former SummerWorks participant, said. "It taught me everything from coding basics to leveraging technology to address real-world issues. What's even more exciting is that it really deepened my interest within the technology field and I'm actually looking to change majors because of it."
Applicants can register for SummerWorks online now. For more information or to register, click here.
