Pegasus Pin packaging 2025

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The first shipment of Pegasus Pins arrive Thursday in Louisville.

The Kentucky Derby Festival said the pins will be delivered to Evan Williams Bourbon Experience on Main Street in downtown Louisville. People can purchase the pins starting Thursday for $7.

Heaven Hill Distillery also produced a special Evan Williams Single Barrel Limited Edition Kentucky Derby Festival Bourbon Bottle. It is dipped in iridescent pink wax, one of the festival's official colors. The commemorative bottles are available for $89.99 while supplies last.

The 53rd edition of the collectible pins say "Happy Derby" this year. It is a circular-shaped pin featuring two shades of pink and spotlights the festival's Pegasus symbol.

"For more than five decades, the Pegasus Pin has been synonymous with springtime in Louisville and an iconic symbol of the Kentucky Derby Festival," Matt Gibson, president and CEO of KDF, said in a news release Wednesday. "Along with being your entry to a month’s worth of Derby Festival fun, Pegasus Pins also include a chance to win one of our weekly Grand Prizes, along with valuable coupons to local retailers."

Evan Williams Bourbon Experience at 528 W. Main St. will be the only location selling Pegasus Pins from Feb. 13 through March 1.

The pins will be available at retail locations like grocery stores, gas stations, banks and other outlets starting March 1.
