LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- One person is dead after a car crashed into the Nelson County Courthouse early Thursday morning. 

In a news release, Bardstown Police said officers were called to 1 Court Square just after midnight on a report of a single vehicle collision. 

When police arrived, they found a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu that had collided with the building. Bardstown Fire and Nelson County EMS responded, but the driver died at the scene. 

The name of the driver hasn't been released until the family is notified.
