LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An electrical fire at an apartment building Tuesday evening displaced five residents.

The Louisville Fire Department responded to the 2400 block of Idlewylde Court just before 6 p.m. and saw smoke coming from the roof of a three-story apartment building, department spokesperson Donovan Sims said in a statement. That's off Idlewylde Drive, off Brownsboro Road.

No one was inside the affected apartment units at the time and smoke detectors alerted residents to the fire, which Sims said was in the ceiling and "floor joist space between apartments" and confined to one floor.

It took crews about 30 minutes to get the fire under control. Sims said 37 firefighters, four engines, two trucks and one battalion responded to the fire and worked to extinguish it.

Sims said five adults were displaced but no injuries were reported. Investigators determined the fire was electrical.
