LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A donation drive is being held this week by a Louisville bakery. 

Bae's Bakery is hosting a Black-Owned Hair and Beauty Production Donation Drive through Feb. 15. It will support the Black Recharge Hair Show, an event that highlights Black beauty, creativity and self-love, according to a news release. 

Customers are encouraged to donate Black-owned beauty and haircare products, which will then be used for makeovers and gift packages for participants in the hair show. 

"Hair is so much more than style—it’s culture, identity, and history," Taylor Ryan, organizer of The Black Recharge Hair Show, said in a news release. "This donation drive allows our community to invest in that beauty, ensuring that everyone who participates in The Black Recharge Hair Show feels valued and seen."

Bae's Bakery is located at 1804 Frankfort Avenue in the Clifton neighborhood. 

Customers can bring by new and unopened products from Black-owned brands to the bakery. People can drop off donations from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. It's closed Monday and Tuesday.

People are encouraged to donate brands that include The Lip Bar, Mielle Organics, Juvia’s Place, Melanin Haircare, Uoma Beauty, Soultanicals, Beneath Your Mask, The Afro Hair & Skin Co., Black Girl Sunscreen and Camille Rose. Requested products include foundation, shampoo, conditioner, detangler and gel, edge control, heat protectant, setting spray, moisturizer, eyeliner and liquid lipstick, sunscreen and children's sunscreen.
