LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- After a long campaign to get it here, Cook Out is finally coming to Louisville.
Permits filed with the city on Tuesday show the late night burger joint is set to be built on Preston Highway, just south of Eastern Parkway in the Saint Joseph neighborhood.
It's unclear when construction will begin.
Louisville just barely lost a social media contest to get a Cook Out location back in 2022. But it seems the dreams of fast food lovers may be coming true after all.
Cook Out locations are largely located in the southeast region of the U.S., originating in Greensboro, North Carolina. There are multiple in Kentucky, including Frankfort and Lexington, but this will be the first location in Louisville.
Cook Out Restaurants are known for their variety and combo trays at low prices, as well as their more than 40 flavors of milkshakes. Their menu has a little bit of everything, from burgers and chicken strips, to corndogs, hot dogs, quesadillas, barbeque, onion rings, hushpuppies, chicken wraps, and more.
