LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- AI and advanced editing platforms are getting so sophisticated looking that it's scary.

They can have anyone endorse anything, and they can even put words in their mouth to make that endorsement.

The most recent one to go around is Oprah Winfrey pushing a pink salt weight loss supplement, claiming it "mimics the effects of Mounjaro" for a fraction of the cost. But it isn't, and Oprah has made statements saying that isn't her.

One woman fell for the scheme and was out over $300, even after trying to track down the seller's address.

Security officials said you should question any celebrity endorsement nowadays because as technology progresses, it's getting harder and harder to look at synthetic media content and say that its been faked.
