LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville's Hot Brown week will celebrate the city's signature dish with deals at a number of local restaurants.
The week-long celebration will take place Oct. 21-27, when hot brown dishes will be $10-$12 at multiple locations.
The dish first made at The Brown Hotel in Louisville in 1926 is a hot, open-faced sandwich made with Texas toast, thick-sliced turkey, cheesy Mornay sauce, bacon and tomatoes.
"Supporting Hot Brown Week in Louisville is not just about enjoying Louisville’s iconic dish; it's also about uplifting our local businesses and celebrating our city's rich history and cultural heritage,” said Michael Fetter, Director of Marketing for Louisville Tourism, in a news release.
Current participating restaurants include:

- Biscuit Belly (3 locations)
- Big Bad Breakfast (2 locations)
- Captain’s Quarters
- Four Pegs Smokehouse
- Gander, An American Grill
- World Famous Gorilla Bob’s
- Parlour (various locations)
- PuttShack
- Rubbies Southside Bar & Grill
- Sidebar at Whiskey Row
- The Cafe
- The Goose Eatery & Hangout
Organizers said more participating locations will be announced soon.
