LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory gave an inside look at renovations to its store.
The project began in 2019 and took a short pause during the COVID-19 pandemic. But construction picked back up last month and finished just in time for the holidays.
The museum said its major focus for the renovation is to give people an immersive, personalized baseball bat experience.
"A big emphasis for us in the museum, you get to hold game-used bats and people have a lot of excitement around that, so when you come into the museum store, now the focus is really people being able to hold those bats before they personalize them, before they take them home. They get to feel a piece of history," said Andrew Soliday, with Hillerich & Bradsby Co.
Over the past two years, the historic museum and factory completed a number of transformations, including a renovated gallery, an expansion of its event space, and a new bourbon blending attraction.
