LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A brand new pickleball spot is coming to Jeffersontown.
Ace Pickleball Club will open in October on Taylorsville Road in the former Louisville Athletic Club building.
Pickleball is essentially a combination between tennis and Ping-Pong, and has seen rapid growth in popularity.
Ace is a national franchise, and this will be its first location in Kentucky.Â
"What we try to do is make sure that Ace Pickleball Club is a place that anybody can play. Whether you are an experienced player and expert or a professional, even down to people that have never played really any competitive sort in their life," Mookie McDevitt, vice president of partnership for Ace Pickleball Club, said. "It's really a sport that anybody can approach and really a lot of fun."
Ace offers memberships that include unlimited open pickleball play every day for a monthly fee. It's also offering free, first-month memberships to Jeffersontown residents.
