LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- For the first time ever, Kentucky Kingdom will be open for the holiday season.
Right now, crews are busy spreading snow and putting up decorations. It's all for an $8 million inaugural Christmas at Kentucky Kingdom event.
Starting Nov. 29, guests can enjoy The Snow Zone, which includes a 175-foot snow tubing hill, more than a million Christmas lights, hundreds of Christmas trees, and a snow machine that cranks out 100 tons of snow every day.
Santa and Rudolph will also be on hand to spread some holiday cheer.
"You know, we're really excited about it in the community, and we do think a lot of people are going to be excited about it and come check it out," Sarah Worrell, Kentucky Kingdom general manager, said. "Where else can you do lights and rides at the same time? So there is a lot of uniqueness to it, so we expect that it will be a decently popular event."
Christmas at Kentucky Kingdom is included with daily admission, or a season pass. It starts Thanksgiving weekend and runs through Jan. 4.
