LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Businesses near Grade Lane are starting to recover months after a deadly UPS plane crash turned the area into a restricted zone.

Officials said the overnight entry window has been expanded, allowing business owners and employees to access their buildings from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Roadblocks remain, and overnight workers must still show identification at checkpoints.

Support services set up after the crash have now ended. The Community Resource Center has closed, and the U.S. Small Business Administration has left the area after assisting impacted businesses.

More than 300 people visited the center seeking financial assistance, counseling and other recovery resources.

Cleanup crews continue working at the crash site, balancing safety concerns with the community’s push to move forward. Officials say the expanded access gives businesses a chance to get back on their feet while recovery efforts continue.
