LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Santa made an early special trip to Louisville this week.
LMPD's Sixth Divisions held Christmas With a Cop with the help of JCPS and community partners.
Several children participating in the event were selected. Then parents or guardians were notified to find out what each child wants and needs for Christmas.
The whole area was decorated with gifts and balloons. It's different than the traditional Shop with a Cop because the officers do all the shopping then surprise the kids who were selected.
"These kids are just super blessed," LMPD officer Dan Marsden said. "These are kids who don't have the most resources in the world and just to be a blessing to them was amazing and to see the smiles on their faces."
The event also had plenty of sweet treats and a little dancing.
