LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville nonprofit was honored during the University of Louisville's football game against Notre Dame on Saturday night at L&N Stadium.
Christopher 2X and the Christopher 2X Game Changers organization were recognized by Tom Drexler Plumbing during the second quarter of the game in front of a sold-out stadium.
As part of a partnership with Louisville, the local plumbing, HVAC and electrical services company gathers nominations for its Heroes Program each summer to recognize individuals who are working to make the community a better place. To nominate to the Heroes Program, click here.
The announcement read in part, "Christopher 2X is advocate for peace and justice working in our community to educate our youth. He has been recognized countless times for his selfless mission which leads a movement for social justice through education and non-violence so all children can reach their full potential."
Christopher 2X Game Changers has devoted resources to supporting children impacted by gun violence with the Future Healers program, which is a partnership between Christopher 2X's Game Changers, UofL Hospital's Trauma Institute and students at the University of Louisville School of Medicine.
The Future Healers program is an educational initiative led by Christopher 2X Game Changers, UofL Hospital Trauma Institute and students at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. The goal of the program is to help Louisville children who have been impacted by violence in their neighborhoods to build a better future.
