LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A corn hole tournament in Oldham County raised awareness for a rare syndrome.

3rd Turn Brewing in Crestwood hosted the Nickels for Nico tournament for the 13th year. The event raises awareness and research funding for Smith Magenis Syndrome, which is a developmental disorder.

Jean Bishop's son has the disorder. She said events like the one at 3rd Turn help raise money for PRISMS, which are conferences held every two years to learn more about Smith Magenis Syndrome.

"As people are diagnosed, we get to meet other people who are in our region," Bishop said. "It gives us the opportunity to have a lot of support with each other, especially with other parents that can empathize with your situation."

In addition to games, there was face painting, music and a 50/50 raffle.
