LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two people indicted on complicity to murder charges in Spencer County pleaded not guilty Wednesday.
Christiana Angel Walker was found dead inside a home in May 2023, but a cause of death hasn't been released.
In September, Kentucky State Police arrestedĀ 22-year-old Kimberly Walton and 39-year-old Edet Wettee in connection with Walker's death. According to KSP, Wettee was Walker's husband, and Walton was an "acquaintance" of Wettee.
Wettee and Walton pleaded not guilty in their individual cases. Wettee was indicted on a complicity to murder charge and is being held on a $1 million cash bond. Walton was also indicted on a complicity to murder charge and is being held on a $500,000 cash bond.
The next hearing is scheduled on Jan. 24, 2024, in Spencer County Circuit Court. Both are being held at Shelby County Detention Center.
Walker's family doesn't know who Walton is but believes Wettee adopted Walker's biological child two weeks before she died.
"I think from day one it was planned," Wanda Carpenter, Walker's aunt, said in September.Ā
