LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An 88-year-old man has been charged with shooting his live-in girlfriend in Hikes Point Monday morning. 

Courtney Seitz was arrested Monday afternoon, a few hours after LMPD 6th Division officers were called to El Conquistador Place near Breckinridge Lane on a shooting report around 9:45 a.m. That's where they found the woman with a gunshot wound. 

The victim was taken to UofL Hospital in downtown Louisville, but her current condition is not available. Police said she was in stable condition on Monday. No further details about her injuries have been released. 

According to the arrest slip, Seitz "admitted that he intentionally shot his live-in girlfriend," causing her "to suffer serious physical injuries." 

The LMPD Domestic Violence Unit headed up the investigation. Seitz was charged with one count of assault - domestic violence. He was arraigned Tuesday morning.
