LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An Indiana judge and his wife are recovering in the hospital, after they were shot at their Lafayette home Sunday afternoon.

According to a report from Fox59, Indiana Courts officials confirmed that Tippecanoe County Superior Court Judge Steven Meyer and his wife, Kimberly Meyer, were shot at the residence in the 1700 block of Mill Pond Lane.

Both were taken to a hospital where they're recovering. Their condition was not known but officials said they were both "stable."

Lafayette police later said Judge Meyer suffered an injury to his arm, while his wife was injured in the hip. Investigators recovered shell casings at the scene. As of the latest update, no arrests had been announced.

Court officials said arrangements are being made to ensure Judge Meyer’s court continues operating without disruption.

Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Loretta Rush also alerted judges statewide to the shooting and urged vigilance, noting the suspect was still believed to be at large at the time of her message.

Lafayette Mayor Tony Roswarsky said law enforcement agencies are using all available resources to find whoever is responsible for the shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lafayette Police Department at (765) 807-1200.
