LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Detectives with Indiana State Police are looking for anyone who may have witnessed a man being stabbed during an apparent road rage incident over the weekend. 

The incident started around 10:45 a.m. Saturday, April 6, on the ramp from SR 160 to Interstate 65 northbound near the 19 mile marker, according to a news release from Indiana State Police. That's when 911 dispatchers received calls about a possible road rage incident involving drivers of two semi-trucks. 

The two semi-trucks were reportedly passing and brake checking each other on I-65 northbound a few miles south of the Henryville exit, according to the news release.

A short time later, state troopers responded to the rest area in the northbound lanes of I-65 near the 22 mile marker, after receiving reports that one of the drivers had pulled into the rest park with stab wounds. 

Officers responding to the scene immediately called for a medical helicopter to take the injured driver -- Daniel Andrews of Springfield, Missouri -- to UofL Hospital in Louisville to treat his stab wounds.

After troopers received a description of the other vehicle involved, Scottsburg Police officers stopped a semi-truck driven by Lyndon Smith of Gadsden, Alabama. Police said it appears Smith and Andrews pulled off at the northbound on-ramp to Henryville. That's when Andrews was stabbed during "a physical altercation."

Following investigation, detectives arrested Smith for false informing, and Andrews was arrested after he was released from the hospital. He is charged with battery by means of a deadly weapon battery resulting in bodily injury, criminal recklessness and aggressive driving.

A not guilty plea was entered for Andrews during a hearing on April 9, and the judge set his bond at $10,000 cash, according to online court records. He is due back in court on April 24. 

Smith's next court appearance is scheduled for April 10. 

This case is still under investigation, and detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the stabbing to call the Sellersburg Post at 812-246-5424.
