LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A judge on Monday set bond at $250,000 cash for a woman charged with murdering her live-in boyfriend in the Russell neighborhood last week. 

It happened around 8:40 p.m. Nov. 21 at a residence in the 2700 block of Cedar Street, according to a news release from Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Sgt. Matt Sanders. That's not far from South 26th Street and W. Muhammad Ali Boulevard.

When officers arrived at that location, they found the victim -- identified as 27-year-old Isaiah J. Washington -- with a gunshot wound to the face, according to the release. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

After investigation, 25-year-old Maria Swann was arrested at the scene and charged with murder - domestic violence.

According to court documents, Swann waived her Miranda Rights and admitted that she shot Washington during a "verbal altercation." Police said the Washington and Swann lived together and were in a relationship.
