LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — An employee at a Kentucky prison is facing charges after being arrested by state police.
In a news release, Kentucky State Police said they were called to the Green River Correctional Complex in Muhlenberg County on Monday, Feb. 12. Police said the prison was conducting an internal investigation into one of its officers.
Amanda Kulka, 42, was arrested after police said they discovered an inappropriate relationship between her and an inmate. Court records show Kulka may have also been bringing an illegal substance into the prison.
Kulka denied bringing an illegal substance into the prison, but court records said she did admit to the inappropriate relationship with an inmate.
She's facing a sodomy charge, and was arraigned on Wednesday, but it is unknown how she pled. A cash bond of $5,000 was set, however, she is still in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center.
