LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Louisville man was in court Monday after he was charged with shooting a woman last month in the Jacobs neighborhood.

Louisville police arrested 45-year-old Rondrell Cox on Jan. 3. He's charged with two counts of assault and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. 

LMPD said on Friday, Dec. 26 they responded to the 3600 block of Manslick Road on a reported shooting, department spokesperson Aaron Ellis said at the time. When officers arrived, they found a woman inside an apartment building, who had been shot. Ellis said the woman was alert and conscious when taken to UofL Hospital injuries that weren't considered life-threatening injuries.

During his arraignment on Jan. 5, the judge set Cox's bond at $100,000. He is due back in court on Jan. 13.
