LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man was arrested April 10, 2025, after allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in the Phoenix Hill neighborhood.

According to court documents, officers responded to the area of South Preston and East Liberty streets on a woman crying in the background of a call.

Officers found a woman who claimed she was sexually assaulted. She told detectives that she was sleeping on the sidewalk when she felt someone put a blanket on her.

The man asked if he could touch her and she said no, court documents claim. She said he then sexually assaulted her and fled the scene.

Detectives with the Real Time Crime Center obtained video surveillance of the encounter and images of the suspect before and after the assault. Police identified the suspect and found him in the area wearing the same pants and shoes as in the footage.

Jeffrey Wilson, 59, was arrested and then officers found multiple bags of meth and a pipe on him.

A SAECK fit was completed for both the victim and the suspect.

Wilson was initially charged with sodomy, sexual abuse, trafficking in a controlled substance and buying or possessing drug paraphernalia.

He appeared in court earlier this week and had a cash bond set for $25,000.
