LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man is dead after investigators said he fired several shots at a SWAT team at a southern Indiana home.
It happened Thursday on Green Row Road in Lanesville -- just off Interstate 64.
The Floyd County Sheriff's Office said around 4:30 p.m. Thursday the Southeast Regional SWAT team was assisting the sheriff's office on an arrest and search warrant.
Investigators said the man was wanted for felony stalking. SWAT members made contact with the man through a window and asked him to come outside. The sheriff's department said the man refused and started firing at officers.
A chemical agent was deployed but the man continued shooting. Investigators said they found the man dead inside the home from a self-inflicted gunshot.
His name hasn't been released. Police said that no officer fired any shots during the incident.
