LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An Elizabethtown woman was arrested Tuesday night after police say two children were found inside a home where methamphetamine was right out in the open.
According to an arrest report, the discovery was made at the home of 33-year-old Jessica Coomer in the 200 block of West Poplar Street, near the intersection of North Mulberry Street and West Poplar Street in Elizabethtown. Representatives of Child Protective Services visited Coomer's home to check on the welfare of the two children there.Â
What they found there prompted them to call the Elizabethtown Police Department.
When police arrived, they officers found a small plastic bag containing methamphetamine in a ceramic dish on a hutch in the living room. Police say they found more baggies of meth in a Bud Light glass and on a shelf in the master bedroom.
Suspected marijuana was also found in clear plastic baggies in a Coffee Mate Creamer container in the master bedroom, according to the arrest report.
Coomer was arrested and charged with trafficking in marijuana, two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
She is currently being held in the Hardin County Detention Center.
The children -- whose ages were not disclosed -- were placed into the custody of Coomer's mother.
