LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville high school football stadium is set to get a makeover not long after its 100th birthday.
According to our partners at Business First, Jefferson County Public Schools is planning a $2 million renovation at duPont Manual Memorial Stadium.
The 8,500-seat stadium on East Burnett Avenue in the Schnitzelburg neighborhood opened in 1924 and hosted Louisville football in the 1950s. The stadium gate was designated a historic landmark last year.
The stadium will get new goalposts, upgrades to restrooms and concession stand and a new video scoreboard.
Work is expected to begin April 1 and wrap before the next football season starts in the fall.
