LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — All 15 of the Indiana's public colleges and universities are freezing their tuition for the next two school years, Gov. Mike Braun said Tuesday.Â
According to state records, this is the first time since at least 2010 that two or more campuses have simultaneously held their tuition flat, FOX59Â News reported.Â
The tuition will be held at a flat for in-state undergrad students for the 2025-26 school year and 2026-27 school year.
Braun had requested a 0% increase last month and challenged schools to eliminate redundancies and find ways to streamline services.
Per Indiana code, the Commission for Higher Education must make tuition and mandatory fee recommendations for state public institutions within 30 days of enactment of the state budget.
The commission voted for the first time ever, to unanimously support the governor’s recommendation to freeze tuition.
The public universities and colleges that are participating include:
Ball State University
Indiana State University
Indiana University Bloomington
Indiana University East
Indiana University Indianapolis
Indiana University Kokomo
Indiana University Northwest
Indiana University South Bend
Indiana University Southeast
Ivy Tech Community College
Purdue University West Lafayette
Purdue University Fort Wayne
Purdue University Northwest
University of Southern Indiana
Vincennes University
