LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Nine people, including two children, were displaced after a house fire Monday afternoon in the Douglass Hills neighborhood.
According to Anchorage Middletown Fire & EMS, crews were dispatched around 4:07 p.m. to a residential structure fire in the 11000 block of Grand Vista Court, in Middletown.
Crews arrived within about five minutes and found an active fire burning in the basement of a one-story brick home.
With help from Jeffersontown Fire and EMS, Anchorage Middletown firefighters were able to get the fire under control in about 27 minutes and keep it contained to the basement.
Nine people, including two children, were displaced. They safely escaped the house before crews arrived.
The basement was moderately damage but authorities said there were no injuries reported.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
